Jacquelyn Thomas-Smith is a pioneering force in STEM education and youth empowerment. One of only 684 African American women in the U.S. to hold a STEM degree, she earned a Computer Science degree with a concentration in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, adding to her impressive educational background. As the founder of Girls Pursuing Science (GPS) and Kids in Technology, Jacquelyn has dedicated her career to breaking barriers and inspiring future innovators. Her passion for closing the digital divide has led her to develop groundbreaking curricula, including the first technology program for the Department of Justice’s job readiness initiative, which certified inmates as computer technicians. Through her work, Jacquelyn continues to empower young minds, especially girls, to achieve their potential and transform their communities.
