Plenty of exceptional experimental workouts on this week’s Independent Music Podcast, starting off with a wild change of direction from Comité Hypnotisé, whose new record marks a wild change of direction from last year’s Dubs Pour Oh La La – one of our favourites from 2021. The new direction is equally magnificent though, drawing on a wide range of influences to create something great.

Across the pod, we have minimal drones from China’s 梁奕源 Liang Yiyuan and an exclusive first play of the superlative OCH release on Rocket Recordings. We also have a healthy dose of acid – with the blistering track from Kharkiv artist Metadata, and the latest from Part Chimp drummer Drumm Chimp.

Elsewhere, we have a cracking track from Nick Klein, raising money for the Red Cross in Ukraine, an always-welcome return from Solo Banton, a sublime avant folk masterpiece from Alison Cotton and more.
