Pioneers of Country – January 6, 2013 We begin this show with Stonewall Jackson singing his song, Push The Panic Button. - Stonewall Jackson (November 6, 1932 – December 4, 2021) was an American country music singer and musician who achieved his greatest fame during country's "golden" honky tonk era in the 1950s and early 1960's If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me) by The Bellamy Brothers are next. "Uncle Pen" is a song written and originally recorded by bluegrass legend Bill Monroe. We hear that version now. “Rose in Paradise" is a song written by Stewart Harris and Jim McBride, and recorded by American country music artist Waylon Jennings which he performs now. Dave welcomes listeners who have checked into the chat room. Then Dave does a mini-tribute to Patti Page who passed away on January 1, 2013. "Mr. Bojangles" is a song written and originally recorded by American country music artist Jerry Jeff Walker for his 1968 album of the same title. Since then, it has been recorded by many other artists, including US country music band the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band which we play now.
