Today, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Dr. Toya Burke Washington. She has served in education for 16 years and shares a lot of wisdom with us from her years in the classroom. Currently, she serves as both a learning coach for Goose Creek CISD in Texas and a faculty member at Indiana Wesleyan University.
She has taught in multiple states an in a variety of settings from public to private and from elementary school to higher education. She is also authoring an ESL curriculum which we are currently using here in Harris County, TX.
Toya is a gifted woman and educator and was recognized for her abilities when she was crowned Houston Area Black Educator of the Year earlier this year.
