Saint Theodore of Studite, was an eight century Byzantine Greek monk and abbot of the Stoudios Monastery in Constantinople. He played a major role in the revivals both of Byzantine monasticism and of classical literary genres in Byzantium.
Saint Theodore died as a martyr and is the patron saint of soldiers, the recovery of lost items, and of Brindisi, Italy.
