The parents I serve, the parents I connect with, the parent I was... would all say something along this line: "I am giving all of my time, my attention, my energy, my (you can probably add more here!) to my one child - they are exhausting me!"

But is giving your time, your attention, your energy, etc. the same as connecting with your child? Our kids need connection - and especially our kids who've experience disrupted attachment and early trauma need connection more than anything - more than trips, ice cream. They need connection more than they need us nagging them, correcting them, telling them they made another mistake, or yelling at them.

Our kids are telling us this too - they need connection. The trouble is, they tell us by yelling, hitting, breaking, or driving us crazy with their relentless asking for more.

Our kids need us to be present. In this week's episode, we'll discuss some strategies to do just this.

I can't wait to hear your feedback!
