Hey Fam! Master Coach G 🌟 Thriving After 50 "Mind Body Soul" In this episode, I'm sharing information to help better manage your cholesterol levels. Managing your cholesterol levels is important for heart health. Here are some effective strategies: 1. **Healthy Eating**: Focus on a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Incorporate healthy fats like those found in fish, nuts, and avocados while minimizing saturated and trans fats found in processed foods. 2. **Increase Fiber Intake**: Foods high in soluble fiber, such as oats, beans, lentils, fruits, and vegetables, can help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol levels. 3. **Regular Physical Activity**: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic exercise each week. Activities like walking, running, cycling, and swimming can help raise HDL (good) cholesterol levels and improve overall heart health. 4. **Maintain a Healthy Weight**: Losing excess weight can help lower cholesterol levels. Even a modest weight loss can have a positive impact. 5. **Limit Alcohol Intake**: If you drink, do so in moderation. Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to higher cholesterol levels and other health issues. 6. **Quit Smoking**: If you smoke, seek help to quit.
