Episode 4 of Jett Road Studios Presents is the pilot for Cowbell, a podcast about sketch comedy hosted by veteran comedy writers Andrés du Bouchet (The Tonight Show, CONAN), and Tim Saccardo (Community, American Dad!). It is produced and engineered by Will Becton (Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend, Life In Comedy).
In the pilot episode of Cowbell, Andrés and Tim are joined by actor and writer Paul Rust (Love, Inglourious Basterds, Saturday Night) to talk about his favorite comedy sketches of all time. Classic Sketches like The Fairsley Difference (Mr. Show), Taco Mailman (The State) and Toonces the Driving Cat (SNL) are discussed in detail, and hilarity ensues.
Andrés, Tim, and Paul are then joined by guest writers Andy Secunda (Late Night with Conan O'Brien) and Amanda Sitko (Brockmire) for a segment called Writers Room. They break down what makes a sketch work, and then pitch ideas to the room to demonstrate these concepts in action. It is a writers room without a show, where the show is the writers room.
