On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the wild Sunday Night Football showdown between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Justin Herbert looked like a man amongst boys leading the Chargers offense up and down the field, and the better team came away with the win (even if they almost gave it away there towards the end). Sticking in the AFC West, how about the suddenly surging Kansas City Chiefs? Patrick Mahomes and the offense still has some work to do, but that defense has been lights-out for the past month and carried them to another victory on Sunday against Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. Who would’ve guessed at the start of the season that the Chiefs would turn into a defensive juggernaut? On the flip side, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills continue to confound anyone who had them as a Super Bowl team before the season; They are the epitome of a ‘2 steps forward, 1 step back football team’. If the Bills don’t get their act together, they may miss the postseason altogether. In the NFC, the Seahawks suddenly find themselves staring the down the barrel of a complete teardown in Seattle. Russell Wilson was already unhappy coming into the season, and you have to imagine things have only gotten worse given how poorly the team has played. Would the Seahawks really trade Wilson in an effort to re-build or the roster, or would they be better off dumping Pete Carroll and hoping that a new coach can convince Wilson to stick around? There are no easy answers here. By the way, shout out to Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor for vaulting himself into the MVP race. He has absolutely no chance to actually win the award given that there's no way any running back is more valuable than a quarterback (like say, Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers), but it is a hell of a run he's been on. Finally, Jason closes the show with a very special Monday Night Football Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New York Giants edition of the Best Bet.
