To attract top tier talent you need to be a great leader: to know what a good leader looks like for your business is as important as knowing the ideal attributes of the ‘A player’ you are looking for. If you want the best on your team you have to give your best as a leader and know there is always room for improvement.
Of course, it’s also important to identify key attributes, abilities and skills of the ideal candidate you're looking for, but moving beyond this, it’s vital that you appreciate that great leaders inspire greatness.
As a leader, you can only ask for loyalty if you are loyal to yourself and your team. Being aware of your abilities and looking for ways to improve as a leader helps to recruit top talent and retain the right kind of talented employees to your team.
