For the past seven years, Sam Bethea has been a fixture on the streets of Uptown Charlotte in North Carolina sharing his simple message with his booming voice, "Jesus Saves." Sam is so connected to this statement that he is often referred to as either "The Jesus Saves Guy" or Sam "Jesus Saves" Bethea. However, when rioters and protestors took to the streets of Charlotte recently, Sam was met with intense opposition as he shared his message of love and hope.
In this episode, Sam shares the story of his calling to the streets of Charlotte after having been rescued from those same streets. He also talks with Nathan about the details of the night he stood in the middle of the protests to proclaim his simple message. It is touching and inspiriting. Sam's challenge to us all is to brighten the corner where you are. Sam definitely has the best view in town.
