I’m going to do you a favor and introduce you to the best ‘storytelling’ teacher I know, David JP Phillips. David JP grew up in rural Sweden and, from a young age, was taught the power of story by his parents. Today, I want to highlight one story that he tells in his Ted Talk, ‘The Magical Science of Storytelling.’
In early 2009, Rob Walker and Joshua Glenn embarked on a journey to prove the power of storytelling. They began their mission by acquiring 100 ‘junk’ objects from garage sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and anywhere they could find. And they were acquired for an average price of just $1.29. They put the 100 objects on eBay along with the story to back the efficacy. By November of that same year, you would not believe the price they received for all of these exact same items!
