In this week's episode of the The One Fab Day Wedding Podcast, we're talking about the phenomenon that is engagement season, specifically, how to get through it if you're waiting on a proposal, or you're feeling insecure about how your own engagement went down! The Champagne-filled period that stretches from December to Valentine's Day can be really challenging, as your social media feeds get flooded with ring selfies, and epic engagement stories spread like wildfire throughout your social circle. With this in mind, we put together our top tips for surviving engagement season, including how to cut yourself some slack if you're experiencing unexpected anxiety.

Episode Breakdown: How to Survive Engagement Season

Wedding tip: Celina's tip this week is to remember to pack a pair of sunglasses that works with your wedding outfit. Even if you're having a winter wedding, they'll probably come in handy for portrait sessions!

Main topic: This week, we're talking about surviving engagement season, that time of year when it feels like everyone you know - and their little sister! - is getting engaged in some outragously romantic fashion. It’s a time when even the most laid-back among us might start to set high expectations about a huge ring and a fairytale proposal, or find ourselves obsessing about whether or not an engagement is imminent. Equally, if you're recently engaged, you may feel like your proposal story doesn't measure up! But don't fret, because our tips will help you navigate this tricky time of year!

Wedding dilemma: A listener writes, “Please help! I’m changing my surname to my husband’s after we get married, and while I’m trying to own my decision, I can still hear my inner feminist voice (and some of my friends’) saying I’m betraying the sisterhood. Any tips for making the final call and explaining it to those who don’t get why you’ve made the choice to change your name?” Our advice for this listener is to know that whatever decision you make will be the right one. Your inner feminist voice, if it was truly feminist, wouldn't pass judgement either way!

Something to do when you're not planning your wedding: In this episode, Celina's recommending starting a new Christmas tradition with your partner!
