In episode 66 of The Road to Wisdom Podcast We speak to Addison Landry of Uplifted Collective and dubbed Australia’s Mary Poppins. Addison is a chef, doula and postpartum essential. We can personally vouch for this wonderful human as she generously cooked for both of us before the arrival of our fifth babies. In this episode Addison shares her story of how she became so passionate about supporting women and truly nurturing them through postpartum. We touch on the need for comprehensive postpartum care that includes physical, emotional, and nutritional support. We also discuss the lack of postpartum traditions and support in Western culture and the importance of setting up a support system during the postpartum period. Addison highlights the significance of nutrient-dense foods and the incorporation of organ meats, fermented foods, and whole foods in postpartum nutrition. Addison shares her approach to postpartum care, which includes cooking nutritious meals for families and providing bodywork sessions. They also discuss the process of finding a postpartum doula and the different services they offer. Overall, the conversation highlights the significance of self-care and support during the postpartum period.
Addison is a truly wonderful and if I do say so myself, key part in women’s journey to motherhood. If you would like get in contact with you can find her at www.upliftedcollective.com.au and on Instagram @upliftedcollective
