When you're on a long faith journey, it helps to have a trusted travel buddy by your side - someone who's been down similar paths before. But not all companions are the same.
Today we are continuing our series on Spiritual direction. What is it? And why should you have a spiritual director? In this episode, we'll distinguish spiritual direction from other relationships and explain why it’s great to have a spiritual director as one of your traveling buddies. A spiritual director is specially trained to walk alongside you with understanding, discernment and care. They won't try to push you in a specific direction or solve all your problems. Instead, they'll thoughtfully listen and then ask the kinds of questions that spark self-awareness and invite you to talk to God directly.
Together, you'll tend the campfire when you're feeling stuck, celebrate arrivals as they happen, and find rest in God's grace. Spiritual direction provides the rare gift of being heard and known, so you can hear and know God more intimately.
