Today’s guest, Jeff Knoll, the co-creator and showrunner of a hilarious yet charming new comedy web series called COMING DISTRACTIONS, is someone who’s seen more than his share of interesting and entertaining moments both on and off the silver screen.
His memories of working in several local movie theaters, including the one he currently runs in his hometown of Oakville, Ontario, Canada - Film.CA Cinemas -, plus his other noteworthy positions as a local Town Councillor and veteran filmmaker, are among the many aspects of his life that creatively inspired the series, which is already streaming two episodes of its first season on Knoll’s YouTube channel Zuzu Video On Demand. A full 13 episode season is in the works, with story arcs for two additional seasons having also been scripted.
Though it’s a workplace comedy, and though the characters who make up its staff are especially unforgettable, what makes COMING DISTRACTIONS and everything about it so special is the way it celebrates the magic of movies and the collective experience of seeing movies with audiences; two everyday parts of life that are among the very few things that seem to unite us in our increasingly divided world.
