Houston Food Bank's Sean Crowl & SouperBowl for Caring
Manage episode 344079303 series 3103171
My wife and I own Digital Delight, and in June of last year, marked 19 years in business and we wanted to celebrate. We wanted to celebrate with our team in a way that was fun, yet memorable. Over the years we have celebrated in all of the traditional ways. Lunches, water parks, a day of golf, you name it, we've probably done it. Most companies do this. It's a time to reflect, team build and spending time with those you might only see in passing on the daily. Last year, we wanted to do something different. We wanted to celebrate, but create an experience that our team might not do on their own.
Hope and I have always believed in giving back and have participated in different ways. With the Harvey flood we became the receiver of giving. I never thought I'd be that person or in that situation. You never know what tomorrow may bring, my friends. It was an emotional & scary time for us, once the shock wore off & reality started to come into focus. The devistating impact the flood had on my family & thousands of others, was real. But because of community, the over abundance of support & giving, releaved some of the daily stresses, and allowed us to focus on recovery. This experience, cemented our desire to always give back, when we could.
So we started looking for opportunities to give back with our team & we found it.
