Karsten Jurkschat moved from Melbourne to New York in 2017 and quickly became addicted to the city. But what he loved about the city, the pace, the chaos was also what he sought to escape. Karsten found golf. Even in a city like New York, a golf course offered complete immersion in nature. On a golf course, you’re left with a distinct sense of place, colored by local scents, wildlife, and flora; yet you feel completely removed from the hustle of everyday life. Karsten built Gumtree Golf & Nature Club out of a desire to further meld the natural beauty, flora and fauna of each environment with the golfers who play amongst them. Today, Gumtree sells a mix of high-quality, sustainable and limited accessories and apparel from notebooks to cart bags, all handcrafted by Karsten himself, while inspiring loads of golfers and nature enthusiasts around the world to enjoy the outdoors.
