Love him or hate him, Chalino had a huge impact on musica regional. He was rough around the edges, sang off-key (there is hope for Jerry after all), & his material dealt violence, drugs, and excess in an unfiltered way...A huge part of his success is due to the fact that he made his career on the U.S. side in a little town known as Los Angeles, California - not in his home state of Sinaloa. It's hard to imagine what corridos tumbados would look like today without this man's influence.
