We are here at eTail Palm Springs and seeing and hearing the latest and greatest in e-commerce and retail. Question: Do you need to choose between AI and human recommendations as a customer? Why not have both? After all, don’t each have their strengths? AI in the retail experience is all the rage these days, but today I’m talking with someone from a brand that has been incorporating AI-personalized experiences and shopping combined with expert human recommendations for over 14 years, and continues to innovate today. Today we’re going to talk about how AI-based personalization plus human creativity and input makes an amazing customer experience at Stitch Fix. To help me discuss this topic, I’d like to welcome Noah Zamansky, Vice President of Product and Client Experience at Stitch Fix. About Noah Zamansky Noah Zamansky serves as the Vice President of Product and Client Experience at Stitch Fix, where he leads cross-functional teams spanning Product, Design, Engineering, Algorithms, and Platform Development. A seasoned leader, Noah has a proven track record of shaping product vision and strategy, designing exceptional user experiences, and spearheading the launch of new business ventures. In this episode of Digital Planning Podcast, hosts Jennifer Zegel, Ross Bruch, and Justin Brown welcomed Sheona McDonald, an accomplished filmmaker, who discussed her recently released documentary Dead Man's Switch: A Crypto Mystery, now available on Discovery Plus. The documentary chronicles the investigation post-collapse of Canada's largest cryptocurrency exchange, QuadrigaCX; the company's subsequent bankruptcy proceedings; and attempts to piece together what happened. Sheona also wrote the Foreword to the book Digital Asset Entanglement: Unraveling the Intersection of Estate Laws & Technology (LexisNexis/March 2022), authored by Digital Planning Podcast co-host Jen Zegel and veteran Digital Planning Podcast guest Sharon Hartung, who also join the podcast discussion. Their book focuses on the ways technology has disrupted the traditionally paper-based estate industry and raises awareness on the importance of digital asset planning and the challenges associated with managing digital assets. The book sets forth a personas-based framework to help advisors begin to analyze a client's planning needs by their digital behavior and applies this framework through a comprehensive case study of QuadrigaCX and the estate of its late CEO, Gerald Cotten. Rarely do civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO) claims get dismissed at the motion to dismiss stage, and seldom does it happen twice. Troutman Pepper recently represented a lobster business in Maine and its family of longtime owners facing significant civil RICO claims in federal court, and twice won the dismissal of virtually all of the RICO claims against them. Here, the clients faced racketeering allegations of embezzling from a labor union, wire fraud, and money laundering. Join Troutman Pepper Partners Cal Stein and Matt Adler as they discuss the case (1:40), RICO claims (3:58), and various strategies they employed to twice win dismissals (8:09), including focusing on previously taken discovery (14:05), leveraging case law and a past court ruling (20:41), and concentrating on specific elements of the predicate acts of wire fraud (26:15) and money laundering (31:13). They also will discuss the lessons they learned and their possible application to future RICO cases.…
