This week on #TubtaNabadda, we discuss the power of film to tell stories about human rights in Somalia. Earlier in December, the winners of the first Human Rights Short Film Competition in Somalia were announced at the National Theatre. The first guest on the programme is Abdihakim Jimale Adan, the Deputy Minister for Women and Human Rights Development. He spoke about audio-visual creations helping envision a future where dignity and justice are unalienable rights for all. Our second guest, Ahmed Aweys Hassan, the winning entry producer, narrates why he chose to produce a film that touches on human rights and his motivation to give voice to the voiceless.
