December 9 2019 Hey vikes don't forget ticket sales for the Holiday Movie Night start TODAY at lunch! they're $1 for one and $3 for a combo! Make sure to grab yours before they sell out! Are you a young man between 15 and 25 years of age? Do you care about equality and stopping violence against women? Join the Male Allies group to help stop gender-based violence. This is a new leadership group that will train and certify you to make a difference. It’s time to man up! Come to an information meeting Friday, December 13th at lunch in the library seminar room. That’s Male Allies group - Friday - Lunch - Library Seminar Room. There is a looming deadline for the GRADE 12 HISTORY NEW YORK TRIP. If you would like to go to New York City in the Spring, have your forms in to Mr. Vander Meulen by Monday, December 16. Need a form for the New York Trip? See Mr. Vander Meulen and be sure to meet the December 16 deadline. Would you like to make a seasonal card and matching box? This activity is open to all school members, students and staff. Tuesday at lunch, Dec 10 and Tuesday Dec 17th. The activity is free but you need to bring some supplies. Bring your own glue, card stock (2 pieces, full sheets) and patterned paper (1 piece full size), coordinating twine or ribbon (optional). This could just as easily be a birthday set. We will meet in Rm 218 and move if we need more space. This Wednesday at lunch the GSA will be showing an awesome CBC documentary called Disruptor Conductor in the auditorium. Entry to the movie is any amount you have and we will also be selling snacks. The documentary follows the story of one of our former and awesome teachers, Mr. Batholomew-Poyser, and his project combining the worlds of Drag and classical music. It shares positive messages about inclusion and risk-taking. Come on out! Attention downhill skiers: Join us for dryland practice today and Thursday after school in the weight room. Bring your runners and your signed forms! Hey vikes! Holidays are for Helping has officially started! Please remember to bring in your change for the New Toys for Needy Kids campaign and any toiletries or other items for Monica Place. We can’t wait to see how much we can raise this year! Congratulations to Tasbiha for winning Viking of the week!! Tasbiha is a great student academically and always participates in class. She is also very creative and rapped out a civics project to the class! Once again congratulations to Tasbiha. Hey Vikings! We will be selling one-of-a-kind glass holiday ornaments this Monday and Tuesday by the cafeteria. All profits will support The Women's Crisis Centre of Waterloo Region. Ornaments, pendants, pins and earrings are priced at $10 each. Come on down and check them out during lunch time today and tomorrow!
