Good morning, weather watchers! This is your friendly neighborhood meteorologist coming in hot (well, actually quite cold) with today's forecast for the Columbus area.
Bundle up, folks, because winter is showing its frosty teeth today! We're looking at a chilly adventure with temperatures taking a nosedive. This morning, expect partly sunny skies with temperatures dropping to around 21 degrees Fahrenheit by 10 am. Those west winds are going to be whipping around at 9 to 11 miles per hour, with gusts up to 21 miles per hour that'll make you want to grab your warmest coat.
Tonight, get ready for a real freeze-fest. We're talking mostly cloudy skies and temperatures plummeting to around 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Wind chill values could dip down to zero, so think polar expedition preparedness!
Looking ahead to Tuesday, we've got a slight chance of snow between 1 and 4 pm. Temperatures will struggle to reach a high of 19 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chills making it feel like negative 2 degrees. A light dusting of snow is possible, less than half an inch.
The rest of the week looks like a classic midwest winter rollercoaster. Wednesday brings sunny skies, Thursday gets a bit warmer with temperatures climbing to 31 degrees, and Friday warms up to a balmy 39 degrees.
Weekend warriors, heads up! Friday night and Saturday are looking wet with a high chance of rain. Sunday might throw a little snow into the mix just to keep things interesting.
