Then, on the rest of the menu, a mortgage company accused of lending discrimination by redlining predominantly Black neighborhoods in Alabama, has agreed to pay over ten million dollars to resolve the charges; California health care workers will get a pay bump under a new minimum wage law; and, the Justice Department will send election monitors to an Ohio county where a sheriff repeatedly intimidated voters in social media posts.
After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where a Russian man was released from prison after serving twenty-two months for a drawing his thirteen year-old daughter made criticizing the Russian military; and, a court in Belarus sentenced an imprisoned opponent of hardline President Lukashenko to an additional year behind bars for disobeying prison officials.
