Can you afford to buy your first home? Moving to Whidbey Island or anywhere else for that matter buying your first home is a big deal. Owning your home is a connection to the community, you are no longer a renter but now own a piece of the community you live in. It is also a huge investment that comes with great rewards financially. However, unless you are showing up with $400,000-$500,00 cash you will need to get approved for a mortgage and learn the steps involved in purchasing your home.
