As Christians, it is important to honor God in all aspects of our lives, so it only seems obvious that we should look to Him for what He says about our work. Jobs take up most of our lives, it’s where we spend most of our time. We are going through our series, What God Says About. This week we look at What God Says About Work. What we do matters to God. We are the representation of Christ, how we work reflects Him. Colossians 3:23 says we should “work heartily as for the Lord and not for men.” God commands us to work hard and to serve Him in all we do. In Proverbs, we find some examples of things that hinder us from fulfilling our call to work. There are three examples of obstacles we may face when it comes to work: laziness, distractedness, and selfishness. Proverbs 6 shows us that we have a calling to fulfill and that call is to work. We see in Genesis God giving Adam and Eve the call to tend to the garden and care for the animals. That was a privilege they held, given from God.
