In this episode of Cuadros Corner I talk to a local maternity photographer from Progreso who not only happens to be a talented photographer but a single mother chasing her dreams and taking her daughter along for the ride.

Her biography is as follows:

.

. "Nayely Contreras Veloz was born in the city Matamoros Tamaulipas. At the age of nine, Nayely and her younger siblings and mother immigrated to Progreso TX - where Nayely is currently residing. At the age of 19 Nayely gave birth to her only child Genesis Contreras. As a single mother, Nayely was trying to raise her only child by doing anything she could as a waitress and surviving. Nayely was attending and serving in her church 'Catedral del Valle' in Progreso TX - in which she was given the opportunity to help with photography. She looked for ways to learn online and from her passionate grandfather Silvio Veloz. He was a professional photographer and photojournalist for the newspaper in Río Bravo and Reynosa Tamaulipas.. Nayely was also inspired by her closest friends and mentors; Gabriel Rodriguez being one of them. He always taught her about equipment and ways to improve and always be better, Johnny Davila always pushed Nayely and trusted her as he was the first to put a camera on Nayely's hands. Noe Vasquez jr, a Music Director also inspire her to learn more photography and has been a big help.

. The day that her father passed, almost 3 years ago, were when Nayely felt all her plans were lost. She was at her lowest and was about to give up her photography dream. Miriam and Rodolfo Castillo, some of her closest friends pushed Nayely to continue and eventually opened a home studio. Now living her dream job Nayely has new goals in helping others learn photography and love it as much as she does. Photography has given her the opportunity to learn, travel and meet new people and places!"
