In this episode of Doing What Matters, host Teresa McCloy dives into the importance of building meaningful relationships and creating intentional spaces for connections in our lives. As a believer, entrepreneur, and recovering workaholic, Teresa shares her personal journey of living from rest, not rush. She reminds listeners that if they're tired of the constant grind and crave a settled and meaningful life, they're in the right place.

Teresa reflects on her recent travels and experiences, highlighting the importance of choosing how we spend our time. She emphasizes her preference for avoiding the word "busy" and instead focuses on making intentional choices that enrich and fulfill her. During her travel, she led a retreat for her church's core leadership team and spoke at a community event in Florida. Teresa recognizes the value of stepping outside of our comfort zones and seeking new relationships and connections.

One of the key insights Teresa gained from her recent experiences is the danger of becoming siloed in our own circles. She encourages listeners to approach relationships with open hands and to be intentional about nurturing connections in various areas, such as family, friends, work relationships, community, and long-term friendships. She shares her own journey of expanding her network and the joy she found in connecting with new people. Teresa also emphasizes the importance of nurturing these relationships and being open to where they may lead.

Teresa acknowledges that loneliness is a prevalent issue in today's work culture, especially for those who work from home or are entrepreneurs. She encourages listeners to be proactive in seeking connections and not falling into isolation. She shares her personal approach of regularly reviewing her calendar and intentionally making time for people blocks. Whether it's family, friends, colleagues, or new connections, Teresa believes that healthy relationships are vital to a fulfilling life.

In conclusion, Teresa invites listeners to join the new REALIFE Process Community, an online space where like-minded individuals can connect, access resources, and support one another in living a more purposeful and intentional life. She explains that the community will cater to various interests, from entrepreneurship to spiritual formation, and will provide opportunities for deepening connections and finding support in a community setting. Teresa concludes by reminding listeners to be open to the extraordinary moments that arise from personal connections and to keep seeking meaningful relationships.
