Chance Would Be A Fine Thing!
May has already been, and is still to be a busy month this year when it comes to holidays and celebrations, and while the majority of the general public get to enjoy the fun and events on offer, many actors and performers will be hard at it, working tirelessly and giving it their all. In today’s episode Drew and Sam weigh up the pros and cons of ‘never being off duty’ in the industry, and the sacrifices sometimes made.
It would be wrong to deny that a significant part of holidaying and leisure time is about entertainment, and performers and creatives are obviously the ones who provide it, but if that is the case then when exactly do they squeeze in a holiday for themselves, or try to utilise free time? Is it too risky to book a trip away? And what if the phone rings while soaking up the sun by the pool?! The need to complete self-tapes, attend auditions and be available to respond to opportunities doesn’t seem to stop, so how can they?
