Self-knowledge is a critical component of life design. You can't build the life of your dreams if you don't know what you want. Ikigai is a Japanese word that translates as "a reason for being" and Alegre found it to be a helpful tool in understanding the professional path she's traveled and why she kept searching for her Ikigai. Ikigai as we describe it grew out of the work of many Westerners and the Venn diagram we discuss is designed for the Western mind. Check out our blog post about Ikigai for the diagram mentioned in the podcast.
