14. Action Brackets: How To Know What To Work On For Your Marketing Agency

Advice is everywhere. You're probably flooded with it. Content - blogs, videos, podcasts, books, courses, programs, the lot.
Understanding how to digest this advice, filter through the bullshit and figure out what is actually going to get you to 'X $$ GOAL' is now a more important skill than ever, and it's one you can develop in the next 15 minutes.
The truth is that the actions that get you to $10k/mo are NOT the actions that will get you to $100k/mo. Chances are you are taking $100k/mo actions right now (e.g. hiring a team), but you haven't given your business the contextual foundation it needs for these actions to actually create the initial effect you need to hit (e.g. $10k/mo first), and hence you're stuck.
Understand that goals stack and to hit higher goals you must build a 'ladder of context'. If you want to get to $100k/mo, first focus on trying to get to $50k/mo. If you haven't got to $50k, focus on $25k. If you haven't got $25k, focus on $10k. If you haven't got $10k, focus on $5k. If you haven't got $5k/mo, focus on getting $1k. If you're trying to get to $100k a month before you've even made $10k/mo, you're really going to screw things up for yourself, and end up with nothing.
Starting and growing an agency is like driving a car at night. You have to focus on what's 2M in front of you with your headlamps on. If you try looking 3 miles down the road you're going to wrap your car around a tree and end up in serious trouble. Program your 'sat nav' (your subconscious) to the end goal, then put relentless focus on the next few meters.
