Dr. Amanda Chay is a Naturopathic Physician, store owner, and business consultant for wellness professionals. Running a busy clinic, online education platform, and brick & mortar store, she realized the most common cause of hormone imbalance and chronic disease was chronic stress. "When you're in that chronic fight or flight mode, like you have so much on your plate, you were late for the bus, or you got in a fight with your spouse, whatever it is, all these little things, our bodies start increasing cortisol. So you're always in this kind of high cortisol state. And that's when people tend to feel more anxious and overwhelmed, tired, but wired." "burnout is so hard to define because it's not actually like a medical condition. I think of it as typically, like low crash cortisol." "I think as entrepreneurs, we're always in the thinking, growing, expanding kind of phase in our mind. It's like, oh, what's next? What other cool things could I do?
