The film industry mourns the loss of Gregory Allen Howard (1952-2023). The American screenwriter and producer passed away in Miami on January 27th at the age of 70, following a brief illness. His spokesperson confirmed this to The Hollywood Reporter. Among his works are the screenplays for the films "Against All Odds" (2000) and "Harriet: The Road to Freedom" (2019).

Gregory Allen Howard was born in Norfolk, Virginia in August 1952. After obtaining a degree in American history from Princeton University, he moved to Los Angeles in his mid-20s to pursue his writing career.
Cooperation with various Hollywood stars.
In the years following, Howard worked as a freelance writer and contributed to several television shows, including the 1990s FOX series "True Colors". Stage plays were also a part of his work.
This was followed by two projects that brought Howard great fame: the screenplay for a biographical film about the famous boxer Muhammad Ali (1942-2016) and the script for the sports film "Against All Odds," based on real events and starring Denzel Washington (68). The latter was a box office hit, grossing over 100 million dollars. One of Howard's latest projects was the historical film "Harriet: The Path to Freedom," featuring Janelle Monáe (37), which received several Oscar nominations.
