This week during The Morning Meeting, Sarah & Jess are joined by a registered dietitian who helps them make peace with the fact they are now responsible to feed other humans for the. rest. of. their. lives. Ann Marion Willis is a registered dietitian who is passionate about helping people enjoy delicious food while reaching their health goals and improving their relationship with their bodies. She joins TMM to chat with the gals about the beauty of balance, the hook of diet culture, eating healthy on a budget, grocery shopping with ease, and how to have fun in the kitchen with easy meal planning tips. She discusses the services she offers to her clients, and some common pitfalls and perceptions associated with wanting to eat healthy and focus on nutrition. The gals discuss the importance of language and how we talk about food & nutrition and try to figure out who made up all of these arbitrary rules we seem to follow. S&J ask AM some questions from listeners including what vitamins and supplements are important for thirty somethinger’s (Hello, fibre!), and diet do’s and don’ts for those with polycystic ovary syndrome. Ann Marion particularly enjoys working with women in all stages of life; pregnancy to menopause, baby & toddler nutrition, and feeding a family. Her areas of practice include nutrition for fertility, prenatal nutrition, gestational and type 2 diabetes management, PCOS, anti-inflammatory eating, and infant feeding. Speaking of toddlers…. Ann Marion’s joins us throughout the episode – sharing her Mom on a Sunday wasn’t her first choice - we can't blame her for that. We always welcome all kinds of kinds around our table here at The Morning Meeting so say Hi to Emery, and while you're at it appreciate AM’s multitasking skills as she shares her knowledge with us while feeding and entertaining her daughter. Ann Marion also shares something special for our listeners – a fun takeaway & an awesome giveaway are discussed in the closing of the episode.
