In this episode we welcome Steve Tilson to the studio. A man who played and managed 633 games for Southend United Football Club, achieving back to back promotions to The English Championship both as a Player and then later as their Manager.
Steve names his 5 a side team from players he has either played with and or managed, including the likes of Stan Collymore & Shaun Goater. Steve shares with us how he didn't sign his first professional contract until he was 22 years old and how he accepted an offer to halve his money in order to realise his dream to play for his boyhood club!
We also go on to play the "Name that Date" game with Steve, who thinks every date is the day his Southend side beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Carling Cup!
A fantastic player, an amazing manager and an even better human being. Steve's episode is certainly one we can all learn from!
