Bob and I discuss our efforts to preserve our connection to Portuguese culture. Bob is practicing his Portuguese by reading a book with Portuguese translations, and I explain how our children, although not fluent, understand the language due to exposure from family members. We share our thoughts on the importance of supporting Portuguese artisans, restaurants, and markets, as well as building and maintaining Portuguese communities in the US. We also discuss our children's mixed identity as Portuguese, English, and Irish, and how we encourage them to embrace their Portuguese heritage.
