EP225: How To Ask For What You Want & Need
Manage episode 292499702 series 1791480
If you have been following me, for any length of time, you know how passionate I am about discussing mindset, mental models and mental health.
I regularly dive into my own thought processes, deconstructing and analyzing the mental models I have in place, and try and call out my biases around decision-making as a leader.
Lately, and especially during the “season” that the world has faced for over a year now, I have been noticing a strain.
I’ve noticed the added stress, tension, and worry on myself and fellow leaders around me, so I wanted to call it out.
I wanted to have a discussion around this and to really focus on why we struggle to ask for help, when help is wanted or needed.
Roxanne Francis, a Toronto based Psychotherapist, joins me today to talk about the struggles that leaders, especially women, are facing both personally and professionally
Your reminders for today:
- Boundaries Are Not Rude
- Your Struggles Are Valid
- “Lean In” To Your Community
- You Deserve To Receive Support
