Are you feeling frustrated when you try to declutter items? Are you holding onto things you know you won't use? Do you feel defeated because you want to keep everything? Today we are going to talk about seven cognitive biases or ways our brain tries to simplify our experiences, that can be preventing us from decluttering and getting rid of stuff. We are joined by our guest today, Emily McDermott. Emily McDermott is a wife, mother of two energetic boys, and simplicity seeker. She is also the host of the top 1% globally ranked podcast Moms Overcoming Overwhelm, where she helps moms declutter their homes, heads, and hearts. As a virtual and in-person decluttering coach, she works with moms one-on-one to define what matters, eliminate what doesn’t and automate the rest. Emily enjoys writing custom poetry, dancing, and eating peanut butter out of the jar. We had a great conversation and one of my favorite quotes was, "A gift given out of love doesn’t need to be kept out guilt."
