Coping With Breast Cancer Like Ananda Lewis
Manage episode 315936637 series 3296316
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And earlier this month, Ananda Lewis, one of our favorite veejays of MTV and BET's Teen Summit from the 1990's announced that she is battling stage 3 Breast Cancer. She shared her regrets about not getting mammograms sooner, and her wanting to help other women by sharing her story. Did you know that men can also get Breast Cancer? Did you know that Black women are at a younger age than White women when they are diagnosed with Breast Cancer? Did you know that when Black women are diagnosed it is a more-aggressive type of cancer? Did you know that Black women face a higher chance of dying from it?
In this episode I breakdown everything you need to know about Breast Cancer in the Black Community. We are going to talk about it all! And I’m going to give you tips on how to cope.
